  Lakewood, with fewer than 2000 residents, is home to two highly rated golf courses.

  Boating access to Crystal Lake is provided by a Park District ramp right next to the Village Hall and the West Beach swimming area is just a few yards to the east of the boat launch. A network of bicycle and walking trails many miles long extend throughout the Village. Lakewood originated as and remains a bedroom community with its only commercial properties being its two golf courses.

  The Reserve of Lakewood consists of 30 homesites on 43.l5 acres of rolling land with trees and ponds. The lots, which are fully improved with city sewer and water, are a minimum of ¾ acres in size. Over half the lots are available for english or walk-out basements. The homes range in size from 3000 to 7000 sq.ft., with 3 or 4 car garages. No two homes are alike, and all home exteriors are cedar, stone or brick. Every home has detailed features and craftsmanship unique to that home. The Reserve homes have been designed by one architectural firm, and although no homes are alike, the streetscape is harmonious and exciting to drive through.
